With all restoration work, the preparation is the single most important stage. Unfortunately, it is also the most neglected stage of many restorations. We are often asked to remedy work which has been poorly prepared. Sadly, this is often an unnecessary extra expense which the home owner has to meet.

We aim to get it right the first time which means we approach roof restoration as a two step process:

  1. The repair and preparation stage completed by qualified roof tilers.
  2. Followed by the resin coating stage done by experienced applicators.

This way, our customers get a job that looks great and lasts.

Full Maintenance & Coating

Procedure
  1. Secure roof against all existing leaks. Covered by our full 12-months or four-seasons guarantee.
  2. Replace badly chipped and broken tiles with matching profiles. Please Note: Small corners are replaced using a co-polymer mastic due to pressure points.
  3. Check and secure all flashings.
  4. Check valley iron and re-lip if required.
  5. High pressure water clean entire roof to remove all dirt, moss, lichen, oxidisation, etc. (a clean surface is essential for proper adherence of sealer).
  6. Clean and flush out all gutters.
  7. Replace any broken or missing capping if required. Repoint all ridge and hip capping with Permaflex (Permaflex is a special acrylic compound formulated to allow for expansion and contraction).
  8. Spray entire roof with Perma Seal — a solvent based binder sealer recommended by the AS/NZS Standards and all registered Painters' as the most effective in encapsulating the surface of the tile. A forty-eight hour drying period is required before the application of the final top coats (not required on clay or pre-coated roof tiles).
    1. Spray entire roof with two coats of Permacoat in your choice of over 30 colours
    2. Spray Two-Tone (if required) no extra charge. (Permacoat is an exclusive latex acrylic membrane resin, which includes ultra violet blockages and anti-fungal agents.)
  10. Quotation includes to coat vent pipes, flashings, valley irons, etc.
  11. Spare tiles and coating available from office
  12. Leave site clean and tidy on completion of each days work

  7. Replace any broken or missing capping if required. Re-bed as required. Repoint all ridge and hip capping with Permaflex — coloured to suit (Permaflex is a special acrylic compound formulated to allow for expansion and contraction).
  8. Leave site clean and tidy on completion of work.
Guarantee
Any existing leaks will be sourced and fixed with a full 12-month four season guarantee.

For clay or Bristile roofing tiles we would normally recommend only our Full Roof Maintenance and Cleaning unless a colour change is desired. With a full pressure clean these tiles generally restore to their original colour. Cement tiles once faded do require coating to restore their aesthetic appeal.

  2. Check for rust patches — clean and treat with rust converter.
  3. Check and secure flashings.
  4. Check all tek screws — replace if necessary.
  5. High pressure water clean entire roof to remove all dirt, oxidisation, etc. (a clean surface is essential for the proper adherence of coating).
  6. Clean and flush out all gutters and downpipes.
    1. Spray entire roof with Perma Primer Coat (Zincalume only).
    2. Spray entire roof with 2x Perma Top Coat.
  8. Quotation includes to coat vent pipes, flashings, valley irons, etc.
  9. Leave site clean and tidy on completion of work.
  10. Spare coating available from office through term of guarantee.

  • The restoration & coating processes will be carried out to minimise inconvenience to occupier.
  • All broken & badly chipped tiles to be replaced with matching profile tiles.
  • Any broken capping to be supplied & replaced. Ridge & hip capping to be repointed using Permaflex — a special acrylic compound formulated to allow for expansion & contraction.
  • Any existing leaks will be sourced & fixed with a full 12-month four season guarantee.
  • Extreme High Pressure Water Cleaning (3000 p.s.i.) is used to clean the tiles enabling maximum adhesion of resin to the tile substrate.
  • Due to the high toxicity of separate fungicidal treatments, Permacoat no longer participates in open air spraying. Permacoats top coats, as with most coatings, have fungicidal agents. Effective separate fungicides are harmful to surrounding vegetation because of misting & run-off into guttering & hence to soak wells & gardens. Products, such as copper sulphate, which is one of the best fungicidal washes, will cause excessive rust in gutters & downpipes.
  • With no chemicals being used in our procedures the completed roof would be suitable for rain water collection if required.
  • The 14 Permacoat and the 18 Colorbond colours allows for a selection from 32 fashion colours.
